International Conference on Residency Education (ICRE): September 24-26, 2020

The Body Electric was launched at ICRE in 2014. Each year, an inspiring and provocative selection of visual art, in a range of media – photography, drawing, painting, sculpture and film – explore the conference theme from new critical and artistic angles. Previous themes have included: technology (2015); environment(s) (2016); transformation (2017); change and social action (2018); and diversity (2019).

This year, The Body Electric jury is looking for visual art submissions that reflect the ICRE 2020 theme, Next Generation Residency Education: Game Changers and Proven Practices within medicine and healthcare.

Our take on this theme is to look at the intersection of a game changer – digital health – and a proven practice – compassionate care.

You are invited to approach this theme of digital compassion from various experiential and critical perspectives, such as:

  • Technologies of health and compassion
  • Healthcare environments and digital environments
  • Digital cultures

Visual art can be submitted in any medium; but will be represented digitally.
